Altrincham theatre cancels play after actor's sudden death

ALTRINCHAM Little Theatre has cancelled this weeks run of Fondly Remembered after the sudden death of cast member David Garner.

A hugely popular figure in amateur theatre, David died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday afternoon (October 1) after collapsing in the dressing room during the interval on opening night.

A spokesman for Altrincham Little Theatre said:

“David was a delight to know - friendly, funny and an excellent actor in whatever part he played. When he was not on stage he could be found, immaculate in dinner jacket and black tie, selling programmes and members of our audiences.

“He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. We send our love and our condolences to his family and friends, who were numerous.”
