Allo Allo - SAMT set to bring much loved comedy to Altrincham

March 03, 2026 by Rick Bowen

PAY attention, I will say only once.

Sale and Altrincham Musical Theatre is set to stage the much loved comedy Allo Allo as part of its 90th birthday celebrations.

All your favourite characters are here from hen pecked cafe owner Rene to his wife Edith and Rene’s love interest, Yvette.

Owen Henshall, SAMT’s press and publicity officer, said:

“As we celebrate 90 years of Sale & Altrincham Musical Theatre, this week is a real celebration of what we’re about, brilliant theatre, community spirit, and bringing people together.

“As a registered charity, every ticket supports our work in keeping live theatre thriving locally. ’Allo ’Allo! is one of Britain’s best-loved comedies, and to also welcome original stars from the BBC series for a one-night-only cast reunion makes this anniversary season even more special.”

Theatregoers will also get a rare opportunity to quiz some of the stars of the original BBC series by booking tickets for a special Cast Reunion at Altrincham

Owen said it was Ed Prophet, the show’s director, who helped organise the event featuring -

Richard Gibson (Herr Flick)

Kim Hartman (Helga Geerhart)

Guy Siner (Lieutenant gruber)

Arthur Bostrom (Officer Crabtree)

The BBC show stirred up controversy when the BBC first bought it to the small screen on the grounds it was in poor taste because Nazi characters were portrayed as joke figures and yet a large number of fans lived through the Second World War.

In 2007 a dubbed version appeared for the first time on German TV.

Sale and Altrincham Musical Theatre presents Allo Allo at Altrincham Little Theatre, Oxford Road, Altrincham, from March 25-29 at 7.30pm.

Anyone interested in booking tickets should visit samtheatre.co.uk. Tickets from the Cast Reunion, which includes stories and anecdotes from the actors time on the show are also available from the SAMT website.
